A note
when something
presses.

01 The note No schedule

One note when Kensei ships. The occasional essay. No tracking pixels. No drip schedule. No pitches. The list is kept by hand — deliberately small.

Rule
AGAINST

The anti-patterns of the moment, refused in the order their frequency embarrasses us:

01Centred axial layouts. The page is asymmetric.
02Cream / oatmeal tasteful backgrounds.
03Italic display serifs as the hero face.
04A single coloured square or circle as the lettermark.
05A muted accent in place of structural colour.
06Small-caps section labels as the only structural device.
07Tasteful minimalism in place of decisions made.
LINEAGE

The visual idiom borrows openly: Tschichold for the asymmetric grid, Rodchenko and Lissitzky for the diagonal axis, and Bayer for the heavy industrial sans.

The philosophical lineage is older: Greek askesis, monastic regula, German Bildung, Japanese shugyo, and Sloterdijk's umbrella term.
